At Chef Thomas, we love nature and people
That’s why we operate in a sustainable way. Our ingredients are fresh, as locally sourced as possible, and mostly organic. Our key ingredient is love, which you can taste and see in every dish. In addition, we make almost everything ourselves, from sauces to desserts. We cook Caribbean–international, with something for everyone. On our menu, you’ll find dishes like satay or pasta, but also typical Caribbean meals such as Jamaican Jerk chicken or Curry coconut pineapple chicken.
The story behind Chef Thomas
From Jamaica to Zandvoort
A long time ago... in a faraway land called Jamaica, a boy named Thomas was born. In primary school, Thomas had a passion for cars and wanted to become a mechanic. However, his teachers had different plans and placed him in the 'food & nutrition' class. At the age of 14, Thomas discovered his love for cooking, and many years later, his teachers were proven right…
After high school, Thomas moved to Curaçao with his family. In Curaçao, he worked as a chef at various hotels and restaurants, including Kura Hulanda and Van der Valk Plaza Hotel. He then worked for many companies across the Bahamas, St. Maarten, and beyond, expanding his skills into ‘international cuisine.’
Over 10 years later later Thomas got a beautiful son named Jeremiah, and moved to the Netherlands a few years later. Their second baby was born: Chef Thomas Café & Catering. Thomas passion for people, nature, travel, and of course, food, now comes together at a beautiful location in the heart of Zandvoort. The inspiration for Chef Thomas Café & Catering came partly from the Fair Food Festival: www.fairfoodfestival.nl, a festival they organized in August 2014 at Safari Club, with the aim of inspiring and educating people about honest and delicious food.
